Community Service Project: Operation Bed Roll

From November 11th to the 15th, BLSJCLers participated in a community service project centered around using our own plastic bags to create mats which we would donate in order to help the homeless. Everyday that week, members from all different grade levels would split up into groups to either cut up bags, tie them together, or assemble mats. BLSJCLers were able to receive up to 3 hours everyday for their efforts in helping this great cause. After 5 consecutive days of hard work, we were able to complete one entire mat. Because of the large amount of people that showed up everyday to help, we are planning to hold another project like this later in the year to not only provide students with community service opportunities, but more importantly to help the community.
