During Lupercalia, Ancient Romans would sacrifice goats and a dog, and then men would run around naked, whipping woman in order to make them receive the fertility rite. After this, men would pull women's names out of a jar and stay with their "partner" for the rest of the festival - or the rest of their lives. Aww. Well, not everything is cute. :P The modern-day equivalent of this would be Valentine's Day.

Although we JCLers aren't like the Romans - as in we don't whip women - BLSJCL decided to ramp it up with some archery, street Certamen, making arts and crafts, eating pizza, and a scavenger hunt on February 13th. Pretty cool, huh?
